DIY bike powerd iPod charger

Here is a guy that first connected a handcharger to his ipod. This link can be found here [Link] He did this by taking a hand crank flashlight. His charger actually output a 6 volt current. He used some diodes to keep the ipod from charging the flashlight, and these diodes also cut the voltage down to approximately 5 volts. I don’t know why he just didn’t use a 5 volt regulator.

He then realized that hand cranking for 30 minutes was not that much fun, so he decided to attach the charger to a bike dyno, so he could power his iPod while riding his bike. He gives detailed information about this project at [geektechnique.org]
