This is another project that is quite unique, John at oldvan.com made a modification of a common 7 segment LED display into something more useful – to the community, that is. He used a number of LEDs in series and parallel to make a huge 7 segment display for his garage using a PIC16F877 Clock Controller and a GPS to feed the exact time. At first glance, I thought this is a simple MOD but as I read the latter pages, doing the project needed a bit of everything – basic electronics, programming and lots of creativity. Link
