Cheap Wireless ISP ( WISP )

Filed under: Uncategorized — Glenn Domingo on March 17, 2006 @ 10:28 am

This is a project I made which i forgot to post here. A simple DIY Wireless ISP (WISP) using cheap and readily available materials. A plastic trashcan is used as the enclosure of the Access Point (AP). To supply power using the RJ45 cable, I made a POE (injector and tap) connected to a voltage regulator at the end point. The regulator is also inside the trashcan. I also needed to increase the range of my signal, so an external antenna was connected to the AP. The project has been working very well until now without any problems. You can read the complete instructions here.
