Phillip Torrone, the Associate editor over at Makezine, did some interesting kite photography about a year ago over at Engadget.com. He took an Olympus D-360L and attached a LM555 timer to make the camera take a photo every second. He used the camera to power his timer chip, and wired the chip to have a 1Hz signal. He then connected the output of the timer to the digital shutter button on the camera. Now on every oscillation, you get a picture taken.
He then rigged up a stand to hold the camera under a kite. This is no dollar store batman kite, it is a much larger kite. Ladyada did her own version of this kite using a disposable digital camera, and hers waits for 3 minutes before taking the first picture.
