DIY NES gamepad mod

Well, silas from my diylive instructables section modded another NES controller. He used to love his old NES game pad, but as all of us have realized, it is much too big and cumbersome. He liked the features of it thous. The turbo option was one of his favorites. He decide to attach his NES controller to the gamepad and take advantage of the features while still being able to use his small NES pad.

I really like my NES, and i really like the features of the NES Advantage pad :-P Unfortunatly the advantage pad is not good to play with. It requires enourmous movement of your hand to use the joystick, and the A & B buttons tend to get stuck. Also you can’t move freely with it, like the normal NES pad. Therefore i desided to add a port to the NES advantage pad, to allow a normal NES pad to be used, and to use the “Turbo” option, and the “player 1 or 2″ option.
Yeah, I know. Some of you think it’s a death sin to mod NES & hardware. And i’m pretty sure most of you are getting really tired of NES mods. But I haven’t seen this mod anywhere, so bite me… :-P
I’ve called my creation the ” NES AdPAD.” :-P

You can see more projects in my projects section.

Well, I am on my family practice rotation, and it is also taking up a lot of time. I have to drive 70 min each way every day to get to it. I am having to get up at 5:00 in the morning. It is nice though. I have much less studying than I did my first year.

Now the important stuff. Football is starting this weekend. YEAH!!! And of course that means many Auburn games, (my Alma Mater). I am excited about that. I have a few projects that I want to work on, so keep looking back. I bought a T-mobile MDA, which is the same as the HTC Wizard. It is a great cell phone/pda. I also got a Garmin etrex gps. I am planning on connecting the two so I can have moving map software. I may write some reviews on the products. I have an NES controller project of my own in the works. Maybe I can get it up soon.
